This stand alone renewable energy package uses 18x 250w A Grade Mono CEC approved bushfire rated solar panels & 24x German 2v 1280Ah GEL batteries. Combined with an 8kW Pure Sine Wave Inverter / Charger (2x 4kW units set in parallel), you will have plenty of power available for demanding occasions. This package can easily be expanded to a total of 6000W of Solar Panels without any additional solar controller hardware. Handy if you find you are needing more power.

On average, there will be 22.5kW-hours of power available from the solar array per day - based on just 5hrs of effective sunshine per day. More sunshine = more power. Your daily energy usage will be quickly replenished. This large solar PV design principle reduces the amount of time the batteries will be low on charge, which maximises their life expectancy & provides far more reliable power.
 

When there is no sunshine or badly overcast weather, the battery reserve capacity will give the following power from full charge down to 50% remaining capacity:

  • 26.5kW-hours in 24 hours, or
  • 14.4kW-hours per day for two days, or
  • 10kW-hours per day for three days, or
  • 7.6kW-hours per day for four days

The solar array can then recharge the battery bank from 50% flat in around 7.5 hours of effective sunshine, depending on any loads running on the system at the same time. A generator can be used to recharge the battery bank and run loads through the inverter too.

The GEL batteries have an exceptional cycle life of around 2800 cycles to 50% discharge, and close to 2000 cycles to 70% discharge. This equates to around 22 years if discharged to 70% every four days, or 30 years if they are only discharged to 50% every 4 days at worst. The less they are discharged, and the less time before being recharged, the longer they will last.

2x 4kW (8kW Surge) Pure Sine Wave Inverter / Chargers are combined to provide a total of 8kW constant output power (16kW surge rating). Should you need more power, additional inverters can be added in parallel to give 12kW, 16kW and so on up to 24kW continuous output power - single or three phase. Each extra inverter charger also allows for another 3000w of solar panels to be connected to the system for a much greater daily energy harvest.
